Study: Nebraska a top 10 state for healthcare
(WalletHub) — Personal finance website WalletHub.com has named Nebraska as the tenth best state for healthcare. To determine which states offer the most cost-effective and highest-quality care, WalletHub’s analysts looked at several factors regarding healthcare costs, access and outcomes. In specific categories, Nebraska was tenth best in the number of hospital beds per capita; No. 4 in physician Medicare acceptance rate; No. 5 in average emergency-room wait time; and No. 6 in public hospital rankings. WalletHub reports that for every person, America spends $9,523 annually in healthcare — and that is expected to rise in the coming years. “But higher costs don’t necessarily translate to better care and treatment,” the analysis notes.
