
Nicole Sedlacek, CEcD, has been named Economic Development Manager as of June 1, 2021. She succeeds Mary Plettner, who is retiring after more than 20 years at Nebraska Public Power District.
Sedlacek is a certified economic developer with experience with strategic planning, business recruitment, business retention and expansion, and management.
She joined the Nebraska Public Power District Economic Development team in 2016 after spending more than ten years as the Executive Director of the Holt County Economic Development Agency. She has most recently served as NPPD’s Senior Economic Development Consultant and been involved in such cornerstone projects as the Compute North expansion in Kearney.
“I am thrilled to be taking on this role,” Sedlacek says. “I love being able to help our communities grow and prosper and feel that NPPD has been – and will continue to be – a key partner in their growth.”
“The Economic Development team has done great things under Mary’s leadership and I’m excited to continue that momentum,” she added.
Sedlacek earned her associate degree from Northeast Community College and a Bachelor of Science in Management from Bellevue University. She is also a graduate of the University of Oklahoma Economic Development Institute.
She currently serves on the Northeast Nebraska Economic Development District Loan Committee, the Northeast Community College Board of Governors and the O’Neill Community Foundation Fund Advisory Committee and is involved in Rotary Club International and the O’Neill First Presbyterian Church.
