Last month Cuming County Economic Development, Inc. (CCED) held a Resource Event at the Philadelphia Room in West Point, Nebraska. This event was offered to individuals in and around Cuming County, providing a valuable networking opportunity for start-up businesses and existing business owners looking to expand.

This event brought together ten resource organizations, including: Center for Rural Affairs, Cuming County Economic Development, Inc., Benjamin D. Borgmann – Attorney at Law, Nebraska Business Development Center, Nebraska Enterprise Fund, Northeast Community College, Northeast Nebraska Economic District, State of Nebraska, USDA Rural Development, and West Point Chamber of Commerce.
These organizations offer a range of support from anything from business development workshops and incentives to loans and technical assistance.
Networking with vendors can significantly benefit business owners by providing valuable resources and fostering potential partnerships. David Branch, Director of the Cuming County Economic Development, Inc, said, “We need to better educate our future business owners and current business owners on what Cuming County Economic Development, Inc (CCED) does for our community. We don’t have a lot of funds to offer, but we have the resources to point them in the right direction.”
CCED began brainstorming ideas in March on how to educate the community. According to Branch, “This event offered an opportunity to education more people in one day than in six months.”
This was the first year that CCED held the Resource Event, and they are planning to make it an annual occurrence.
