Northeast Community College recently celebrated the grand opening and ribbon cutting of its new IHub, located at 707 W. Norfolk Avenue, Norfolk, Nebraska.
The iHub is a place where people of all ages can come to try new things, learn new skills, and get hands-on experience. The 18,000 square-foot facility includes wood and metal shops, robotics and automation labs, along with collaborative spaces. It provides students, businesses, and community members an opportunity to explore ideas and learn in a different way.
The iHub is about more than providing access to new technology. It is creating a place where students, businesses and community members can learn, collaborate and turn ideas into opportunities. Dr. Leah Barrettt, president of Northeast Community College, said, “Together with our partners, Northeast Community College has created a place where ideas become innovations, learning becomes opportunity, and partnerships become progress. The iHub will help strengthen our workforce, support entrepreneurs and businesses, and inspire the next generation of makers, creators, and problem-solvers across Northeast Nebraska.”
The iHub also offers memberships for students, individuals, and households, making the facility available to community members who want to learn, build, and try something new.

It is exciting to see the vision and investment behind this project come together and create something that can have a lasting impact on our region,” said Erin Sharpe, director of iHub.
This exciting milestone has been several years in the making with the support of Northeast Community College, local businesses, manufacturers, foundations, and other community partners. The iHub is ready to be a real asset for Norfolk and the surrounding region.
