NORFOLK – Norfolk has been good to Mahaska, and an event on Thursday was designed to show their appreciation.
The bottling company held a ribbon-cutting Thursday to celebrate the completion of a major renovation of their Norfolk facility.
Company officials say the construction gives almost three times the operating space they had before, having renovated the existing warehouse and added warehouse space and new corporate offices.
Company leaders say the expansion is a way to show their commitment to growing in Norfolk.
“They’re super supportive of not only everything that we’re doing, but everything that’s related to this community,” said Mahaska CEO Branden Muhl.
Mahaska came to Norfolk in 1981, and seven years later became a shareholder in Wis-Pak, another company with deep Norfolk roots.
Muhl says they’re excited for what the future will hold.
“We’re very interested in both the Norfolk economy and the surrounding metropolitan areas in the state,” Muhl said. “That’s where we’re seeing most of our brand growth for a lot of the brands that we own and produce and sell cooperatively with Wis-Pak.”
In addition to their Norfolk facility, Mahaska operates distribution sites in O’Neill and Humboldt in Nebraska.
