Seward is excited to welcome a new addition to its Rail Campus Industrial Park. Plum Creek Seed Services held a groundbreaking ceremony at the site of Seward, making an important milestone for the local business community.

Jonathan Jank, President of Seward County Chamber & Development Partnership, opened the event by welcoming all in attendance and acknowledging the collaborate effort involved in making this project a reality. He emphasized that “economic development is a team game,” expressing gratitude to Nebraska Public Power District, Mayor Josh Eickmeier, Seward City Council, Seward Planning Commission members, City Administrator Greg Butcher and city staff, Larry Ruether from the electrical department, Brandon Cole from Moderna Water and the utilities department, Bob Meyers for the street department and Black Hills Energy for their support
”This event is a testament to the dedicated leadership and commitment to strategically growing our community,” Jank said.
Kellen and Michelle Meyer owners of Plum Creek Seed Services, are excited to expand their business in Seward. Kellen, a Seward native and graduate of Seward High, noted that several of his employees are also alumni of the school.
Meyer expressed his gratitude to John Heath, who founded Plum Creek Ag. He said, “It started out as a small facility and has grown and that it really is thanks to their customers. It is a nice addition to the Rail Campus.”
Plum Creek Seed Services will operate as two separate LLC’s – Plum Creek Seed Services and Plum Creek Transfer. The facility will include a 24,000 square foot building, a 2,400 square foot office, and seven bulk seed tanks, providing vital services for the agricultural community.
