The Seward/Lincoln Regional Rail Campus has been certified through the BNSF Railway Site Certification Program.
According to BNSF, sites certified by their program have been thoroughly evaluated by the railway to ensure rail serviceability. Customers, site selectors, and developers can all benefit from this program by knowing BNSF has gathered a large portion of due diligence on the site, making it “ready to roll” when the site selection process begins.
“It was a two-year process, but we’re very proud to be the first in the state,” said Jonathan Jank, President and CEO of Seward County Chamber and Development Partnership. “Site Certifications are just one more way to help make sure your site stands out to prospective developers.”
In addition to being the first site in Nebraska to be certified by BNSF, the Seward Rail Campus is one of just 33 sites certified by the national railway.
“The value comes from Seward now being a prime site in the BNSF system,” said Rick Nelsen, CEcD and NPPD Economic development Consultant. “The anyone wanting to be on the BNSF railway will know they have a speed-to-market advantage when looking at the Seward Rail Campus.”
