Nebraska ranked #42 according to a recent study of overall residential energy costs by Wallet Hub. With a total average energy cost of $253 per month the state had costs that were among the lowest cost states in the country and the lowest in the Midwest. The study compared all fifty states and Washington D.C. Connecticut ranked as the highest energy cost state at an average of $372 per month.
