The Andersons, Inc., Selects Kearney for Nebraska Regional Office

During the past two years The Andersons, Inc., a diversified agribusiness, has expanded its operations in Nebraska to nine locations through acquisitions and merchandising agreements. The Economic Development Council of Buffalo County recently announced that The Andersons, Inc. has selected Kearney as their new regional office. "After our announcement of the acquisition of B4 Grain, the Economic Development Council of Buffalo County helped us become familiar with all the community of Kearney has to offer," says Denny Addis, President, Grain Group.

Darren Robinson, President of the Economic Development Council of Buffalo County said, "Agriculture is a significant pillar that keeps our local economy strong. The Andersons, Inc., had numerous options in the state to build and recruit their skilled workforce and we wanted to make sure their choice was Kearney."

The Andersons will be relocating nine of its existing employees currently working in Kearney to a new office that provides more space to add staff to better serve its customers. In addition to retaining existing employees, the company has immediate plans to add three new full-time positions including a regional management position. The new office will accommodate additional staff as well. The company also seeks to create youth opportunities with internships through the University of Nebraska at Kearney.

Darren Robinson adds, "I would be remiss if I didn’t thank Nebraska Public Power District's Economic Development Department for helping identify this lead which allowed Kearney to secure this large and progressive company."

The Andersons regional office will be served electrically by Nebraska Public Power District.
