COMMUNITY NOTES |
| Our Community: |
Located at the convergence of the North and South Platte Rivers, North
Platte (Lincoln County), Nebraska has a rich and rustic tradition, including
serving as the home of world-famous cowboy, William F. "Buffalo Bill" Cody.
Early construction laborers working on the development of the Union Pacific
Railroad eventually settled the location now known as "North Platte" in 1897. To this date, North Platte's bond with the railroad industry has never been broken. Today, North Platte is home to the world's largest
railroad classification yard, Union Pacific's Bailey Yard. Current North
Platte area residents still embody the adventurous spirit of our
forefathers. North Platte\Lincoln County is again home to many opportunistic
pioneers. From state-of-the-art cancer treatment to a world-class
transportation and communication network, North Platte offers the challenges
and opportunities sought by today's new pioneers.
With a population now in excess of 25,000, North Platte continues to
experience significant growth in new industry segments including: health and
medical, education, retail, small manufacturing, electric supply, tourism
and warehousing\distribution. All relevant economic indicators point to the
continued growth and success of our region. We encourage you to discover the
opportunities available in our area. | | Suggested Sites: |
