COMMUNITY NOTES |
| Our Community: | West Point, the county seat of Cuming County, annually hosts the Cuming County Fair, and the Road Gems "Last Fling till Spring" Car Show. West Point is the number one hometown in Nebraska with 3,660 forward looking citizens. A library, medical clinic, and a Catholic School activity center were all financed by private donations. Our hospital and clinic have 4 resident doctors, 3 physician assistants, one surgeon, and about 20 outpatient clinics a month. Our school system has Catholic, Lutheran, and public elementary schools, and a Catholic and a public high school. There are third and fourth generation families still in the area, in both the farming and business community. West Point boasts nine churches with very active memberships. There are 4 parks, each unique in its own way. In Neligh Park there are facilities for baseball, swimming, camping, and picnicking. Timmerman Park is the center of our youth and adult softball and baseball, as well as sand volleyball and tennis. Wilderness Park is great for hiking and enjoying nature and in the winter sledding. | | Suggested Sites: |
