  Tilden is a friendly town located in Madison and Antelope Counties. Tilden is served by U.S. Highway 275 and Highway 45. Tilden is 22 west of Norfolk, is 134 miles northwest of Omaha, and 148 miles northwest of Lincoln.

Karl Stefan Memorial Airport, located 23 miles southwest of Tilden, provides air freight, air express, and passenger services. Supplementary all-cargo service (air/truck) is available with departures daily.

Barge:

Barge service is available at 19 barge terminal facilities on the Missouri River in Nebraska. The Omaha river port is 135 miles southwest of Tilden. These river ports are navigable approximately eight months per year. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers maintains a 9-foot deep, 300-foot wide channel for 735 navigable miles from Sioux City to the mouth of the Missouri River. Commodities transported by towing companies are alfalfa pellets, cement, concrete forms, distillers' dried grain, feed, feed ingredients, fertilizer, grain, machinery, molasses, newsprint, nitrogen fertilizer solution, propylene glycol, rock-aggregate, salt, steel, and twine.

Elkhorn Valley Schools includes a middle/jr. high with their high school. The Elkhorn Valley School System, located at 601 South Madison, is the home of the Falcons. Meadow Grove and Tilden, work together for Quality Education. Tilden participates in Education Service Unit No. 8, which is headquartered in Neligh and serves seven counties with speech, physiological, in-service and media services and also provides a school nurse two days each week. Tilden also has Little Lambs Pre-School held at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Colleges located near Tilden include Northeast Community College, Nebraska Christian College, and Wayne State College.

Tilden lies on the "Cowboy Trail". When completed, the Cowboy Trail will be the longest bicycling and hiking trail in the United States. This trail is on the former Chicago & Northwestern Railroad right-of-way and stretches from Norfolk, Nebraska to Merriman, Nebraska. This trail is magnificent with scenery ranging from the pristine Sandhills of western Nebraska to the woodlands and river scenery of eastern Nebraska. The city of Tilden has two parks with a third under construction. East City Park, located on the Cowboy Trail, offers camping hook-ups with restroom facilities. The Tilden City Park, located on both sides of Giles Creek near the Tilden Hospital, offers relaxing shade, playground facilities and a swimming pool. The Elkhorn River, one mile north of the city, offers some of the top fishing for catfish in the state of Nebraska. Grove Lake and Ashfall Park are a 30 minute drive to northwest of Tilden. Grove Lake Trout Hatchery is an impressive facility to visit. Willow Lake, located in Pierce, Nebraska, is a 30 minute drive and offers some of the finest fishing in northeast Nebraska. Gavins Point Dam and Lewis Clark Lake is located a little over one hour's drive to the north of Tilden. It offers all the facilities associated with a major recreation area. Antelope Country Club located 10 miles west of Tilden on Highway 275, offers golfing facilities, a pro shop and excellent dining in a splendid natural setting along the Elkhorn River Valley. Kelly's Club and Evergreen Hill Golf Courses are lcoated in Battle Creek. Niobrara State Park offers some of the premier camping facilities in the state. It is one of the most scenic areas in northeast Nebraska with numerous activities for everyone during the summer.

Tilden Community Hospital, located at 2nd & Pine Street, is a state licensed and accredited 20-bed acute and long-term health care facility. This hospital provides a full compliment of services including in-patient and out-patient care, minor surgery, radiology and laboratory departments, C-T and MRI scanning, cardiac rehab, physical therapy and emergency care. The Tilden Nursing Center/Beverly Health & Rehab, located at 401 Park Street, is a licensed and medicare skilled nursing care facility with a 49-bed capacity, including a six-bed special care unit. The center offers nursing care, daily activity programs, religious services and more. Barr Clinic, located at 104 E. 2nd Street, is a participating PPO of Blue Cross/Blue Shield. A general practitioner and a physician's assistant specialize in family medicine.

Our Community:Tilden is a small community within easy driving distance of all necessary services. Tilden is located in both Madison and Antelope Counties. Tilden offers an affordable alternative for residental living in rural atmosphere, yet within commuting distance to the job markets of a larget city. Tilden is a growing community with a thriving downtown business district and a new residential development in the southwest part of town. Tilden is the birthplace of Hall of Fame baseball player, Richie Ashburn. The residents of Tilden believe this is a great place to live and raise a family.
