  Strang is located at the crossroads of Highway 81 (Pan American Highway) and Highway 74. Twenty miles north of the Kansas/Nebraska border and thirty miles south of Interstate 80. Strang is one of the most interesting towns of 32 people in the State.

The Nebraska Workforce Development Department in York shows that there is an available labor pool of 45,381 in the Geneva labor basin. ( Clay, Fillmore, Hamilton, Jefferson, Nuckolls, Saline, Seward, Thayer, and York Counties.) During the summer of 2009 a Labor Supply Factors and Labor Availability for the Fillmore County Labor Area was conducted. The report was prepared by NPPD. The conclusion is that the Fillmore County Labor Area and Fillmore County would be able to provide a significant number of dedicated and skilled workers to meet the needs of additional employers in the area. Fillmore County has 16 townships and is governed by a seven-member Board of Supervisors, each elected for a four-year term. Strang is governed by a five-member village board with one of them chosen as chairman. Law enforcement is provided by the Fillmore County Sheriff's Department and the Nebraska State Patrol.

Most students in Strang are part of the Fillmore Central School system with a population of approximately 600 students. The elementary school building (K-4) is located in Geneva, the middle school is located in Fairmont, and the highschool (9-12) is located in Geneva. A full range of business, vocational, agriculture, consumer econonmics, and industrial technology is offered. Bus service is at no cost to students living in and around Strang. There is also a K-8 Christian private school in Geneva.

Fillmore County Hospital and Fillmore County Health Clinic in Geneva, serve Strang and the entire community. The Fillmore County Hospital is an acute care hospital, licensed by the State of Nebraska and is approved for Medicare and Medicaid. Six family practice physicians and one physician assistant make up the local active medical staff. Fillmore County Hospital has 70 sub-speciality physicians on a courtesy-consulting staff. Speciality clinics are held on a regular basis.
