| Spalding Public School as well Spalding Academy, a Catholic School, offer quality education to the youth of the community. Both schools offer K-12 programs. The sports programs as well as other extra-curricular activities such as speech, drama, band and music of the two schools are combined forming the Spalding/Spalding Academy Knights Co-op.
Spalding is part of the Central Community College which encompasses 25 counties. Central Community College-Platte Campus (Columbus, NE) offers classes at a learning center in Spalding. |

| Visitors to the Spalding area enjoy canoing the Cedar River. Several canoe access points allow recreationers to choose time appropriate outings. The fishing is excellent at the Spalding Dam as well as the Mill Race to the East of the dam. Both are located on the south edge of Spalding.
The Spalding city pool has recently been renovated and is set in one of several beautiful parks.
The public golf course is open 7 days a week from sunrise to sunset. League play begins at 4 p.m. during the week.
Spalding has one indoor theatre seating 100. We also have a 4-lane bowling alley that offers league and non-league play.
This area has excellent hunting for pheasant, deer, quail, prairie chicken, grouse and turkey. |

| For a smaller Nebraska town, Spalding has kept thier housing strong and viable. The houses do not set empty long before being filled by another working family or individual.
