  Orleans is located in Harlan County, near Harlan County Lake and just north of the Republican River. The Kansas border is 14 miles south. Orleans is 30 minutes from Harlan County Dam, 7 miles West of Alma, NE, 31 miles north of Phillipsburg, KS, 27 miles south of Holdrege. Orleans is on route 136 (the original Highway across Nebraska)on 89.

Twin Valleys Public Power District (TVPPD) has 2,250 miles of energized distribution line serving about 5,950 meters and 167 miles of transmission lines. TVPPD not only serves farmsteads, irrigation wells, stock pumps, feed lots, and grain storage facilities, but also schools, towns and oil wells. TVPPD serves the villages of Danbury, Lebanon, Ragan, Republican City, Orleans, Stamford, Huntley, Hendley, Edison, and Wilsonville with retail power and sells wholesale power to the villages of Bartley, Holbrook and the City of Cambridge. Power is also delivered to the rest of the communities in the service area over the transmission lines maintained by the District.

Our Community:Amenities in Orleans include gas, water, oil, snacks, spirits, and an ATM right on U.S. Highway 136. Grocery shopping is available in Orleans. Located downtown is the nostalgeic Orleans Hotel, a restaurant, bank, and library. Other notable interests are the Historical Catholic Church, a restored one of a kind bridge in Nebraska. Recreation includes hunting, fishing, bird watching, and hiking. RV Parking with hookups is available. Rental properties and houses are avaiable.
