| O'Neill St. Mary's has a combined enrollment of 110 students in the Junior High and Senior High School. O'Neill Public has a combined enrollment of 387 students in the Junior High and Senior High School. The students in Junior High and High School in both schools share one common building making the transition easier at the freshman level. The teachers have responsibilities in all these grade levels as well allowing them to know their students very well over a six year period with them. In 2007 St. Mary's renovated and added on to many areas of their school. St. Mary's believes in providing quality education in a Christian setting. O'Neill Jr. Sr. High School offers a broad spectrum of courses. In addition to 13 core classes, high school students can follow a vocational program with 29 course offerings or a college preparatory curriculum with 31 courses. Students may enroll in TANN (Technology Academy of Northeast Nebraska) classes for both high school and college credits. O'Neill High School has had tremendous success in scholastic competition over the years. In the last 20 years their students have won their division of the Chadron State College Scholastic Contest 16 times. Students from O'Neill High School consistently score higher than the state average on the ACT. O'Neill Elementary School have special programs available to students including HAL, ELL, Special Education, and Title 1. The Developing Eagles Program is also available to all students after school from 3:30 to 5:00 P.M. during the school year and from 8:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. during the summer. This program assists students in completing homework, playing educational games to reinforce classroom instruction, and physical activities to promote a healthy lifestyle. |
