| Karl Stefan Memorial Airport, located three miles south of Norfolk, provides air freight and air express. Supplementary all-cargo service (air/truck)is available with departures daily. Taxi service and car rental provide public ground transportation. Airport faiclities include four 5,800 foot paved and lighted runways. National Weather Service office, instrumental landing system, aviation gas, and jet aviation fuel, major and minor repair, airtaxi, airplane rental, flight instructions, aerial photography, and aerial spraying. Thirty-six private planes are hangared there. Commercial air transportation is available at Eppley Airport in Omaha, Nebraska. |
| Barge service is available at 19 barge terminal facilities on the Missouri River in Nebraska. The Sioux City River Port is 77 miles northeast of Norfolk and the Omaha River Port is 112 miles southeast of Norfolk. These river ports are navigable approximately eight months per year. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers maintains a 9-foot deep, 300-foot wide channel for 735 navigable miles from Sioux City to the mouth of the Missouri River. |

| The Norfolk water system consists of two water treatment plants, supplied by two wellfields. The two wellfields have a total of 13 wells averaging 81 feet in depth. The Norfolk Fire Division has a chief, and paid full-time firefighters as well as reserve fire fighters. | The Norfolk Public Schools is a comprehensive school system offering education to students in kindergarten through twelfth grade as well as others identified with special needs. Northeast Community College is located in Norfolk. Northeast offers 70 technical, vocational, business, and liberal arts programs preparing students for immediate employment or for transfer to a four-year college or university. The Lifelong Learning Center at Northeast Community College serves the business and professional community through a vareity of uses. The 20,000 square foot educational wing includes two distance learning classrooms, a computer center for software training, three standard classrooms, and the conference center that can be divided into six rooms and accommodate up to 700 people. |

| Faith Regional Health Services has been providing health care to the residents of northeast and north-central Nebraska since 1923. Faith Regional is a 166-bed acute care regional referral center with Centers of Excellence in cancer, cardiac, physical rehabilitation, and obstetrics. Centers include the Carson Cancer Center, Faith Regional CardioVascular Institute, the Dialysis Center, and RehabCentral. Medical services are delivered from four locations.
