| Nebraska City Municipal Airport is located 4 miles south of Nebraska City. Taxi service and courtesy car are available. Airport facilities include two paved, lighted runways, the longest being 4,500 feet.AWOS, aviation gas, jet aviation fuel, flight instruction as well as major and minor repair are available. Approximately twenty private planes are hangared there. Commercial air transportation is available at the Lincoln and Omaha-Eppley airports. |

Both of these facilities are operated by DeBruce Grain Co. The Omaha River Port is approximately 50 miles to the north, while the Brownville port is 40 miles to the south. |

| Nebraska City passed a $23.8 million bond in November 2007. Therefore, three Nebraska City Public School facilities are currently under construction: a new K-2nd grade Elementary school is being constructed north of the existing building and the 3rd-5th grade Elementary and High School facilities are being remodeled and expanded. Additionally, in fall 2008, the Nebraska City High School track was resurfaced and a turf football field was installed. |

| Nebraska City has the only Commissioner form of government in Nebraska. Commissioners are elected at large by the community and fill the various capacities on the City Council; Parks, Public Works, Street, Finance along with the Mayor. A City Administrator was hired in 2002. The City's Comprehensive Plan was updated in 2002. JEO Engineering Group serves the function of the City's Engineer. The City's Library underwent a huge expansion recently, doubling its size. The Nebraska City Volunteer Fire Department has a long proud tradition, with many dedicated members. This dedication shows in our low fire insurance class number. |

| Nebraska City has over 300 developed acres of City Parks. These parks include tennis courts, swimming pool, picnic shelters, and playground equipment. These parks also have baseball fields complete with concession stand, bleachers, etc. The City has a softball complex which has three fields along with a separate soccer complex with a regulation sized soccer field. The Lied Conference Center has a trail system which travels throughout the grounds and their adjoining orchard. The trailhead for the Steamboat Trace Trail is located just south of Nebraska City. Camping and access to the Missouri River can be found at the Riverview Marina, a State of Nebraska Game & Parks area. Three golf courses are located just on the outskirts of Nebraska City. One is a municipal nine hole course while the others are both 18 hole courses, one of them designed by Arnold Palmer. |

| Our Community: | Nebraska City is an historic, prosperous, growing community. While extremely proud of its history, focus is placed on looking toward the future to achieve the greatest quality of life for our residents and a pleasurable experience for our visitors. Nebraska City has several major employers, two with international connections. While Nebraska City is situated along the Missouri River and utilizes the River in its commerce, we are also situated between 2 major interstate highway systems. Interstate 29 is only several miles to the east while Interstate 80 can be accessed one hour away to the North or West. As the Home of Arbor Day, Nebraska City is home to seven operating museums, with two additional museums in the planning and development stage. The newly constructed Missouri River Basin Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center sits on the east side of the community, while the Arbor Lodge State Park & Mansion is on the west side. Near Arbor Lodge sits the Lied Lodge & Conference Center, hosting educational conferences as well as guests in a beautiful 145 guest room facility. Nebraska City is also home to two operating orchards. A satisfying shopping experience can be had at either our historic downtown or at the Factory Stores Outlet Mall. Nebraska City is proud of two major celebrations, Arbor Day in the spring and the Applejack Festival in the fall. Thousands of visitors come to our community for these celebrations. We offer a well rounded education with a local public K-12 school system as well as Lourdes Central Catholic Schools, our local parochial K-12 system. Peru State College is located only 30 miles to the south. The City boasts over 300 acres of developed parks as well as three golf courses within minutes of the community.
