The primary retail trade area of Milford extends approximately 3 miles north, 2 miles east, 5 miles south, and 10 miles west, and contains 3,400 people. Milford is 1,452 feet above sea level and its terrain is level to gently rolling. Loess plains with fertile black soil are predominant in the west and south, with glacial drift hills in the east and north. Drainage is good.
