| East-west Nebraska Highway 91 serves Leigh. There are no local road restrictions on this highway. North-south U.S. Highway 81, 14 miles west, is a soon-to-be completed four-lane expressway system designated to Nebraska Department of Roads. Interstate 80 is 77 miles south of Leigh and Interstate 29 is 75 miles east. Arrow Stage Line provides one bus in Columbus, 27 miles south of Leigh, with daily passenger and package service to Norfolk and Omaha. Interconnections are made at Omaha to major cities in the United States. Charter services are also available. |

| Colfax County has 12 townships and is governed by three county commissioners elected by popular vote for four-year terms. The village of Leigh is governed by a Board of Trustees who are elected at large. Fire protection is provided in the community by a 28-member volunteer fire department. Fire protection is also provided in the rural area by the Leigh Rural Fire District. Leigh has 34 fire hydrants. Leigh employs one full-time and and two part-time policemen and nine support personnel. Equipment in the department includes fully equipped police car, shotgun, pistol, uniforms, office files and supplies, finger printing equipment, and camera. |

| There is one park in Leigh which covers three acres. Facilities include playground equipment, camping with electric and water hookups, horseshoe court, sand volleyball court, ball field, picnic area, swimming pool, and a small fishing lake. Leigh has one unsupervised playground with slides, swings, and merry-go-round. Baseball and softball programs are offered in Leigh. |

There are two ambulances in Leigh operated by 19 emergency medical technicians and two first responders. The ambulances are equipped with the Jaws of Life, defibrillator, and other standard equipment. |
