COMMUNITY NOTES |
| Our Community: | Henderson is a unqiue community which has always been economically progressive. The original Mennonite settlers who migrated from Russia to Henderson brought with them a strong work ethic and excellent farming skills. The local economy is mostly agriculturally based, serving the needs of the surrounding farming communities. Henderson was one of the pioneers in the irrigation industry, and the sale and manufacturing of irrigation products play a significant role in the agri-business economy. Henderson's thriving economy is evidenced by a fully occupied Main Street business district. A large locally owned bank, a community-owned medical clinic, a new youth cottage, and public aquatic center were completed in 2003. Mainstay Communications, the community-owned telecommunication company, has recently expanded their high-speed Internet service to the rural areas. | | Suggested Sites: |
