  Hemingford is located in the central Panhandle of Nebraska. Highway 2 is a scenic byway that runs East and West through the heart of Hemingford. The 385-Gold Rush Byway, the major north-south route through the middle of the United States, is located 5 miles east of town. Hemingford is primely located 10 miles south of Box Butte Reservoir. Hemingford is also 18 miles northwest of Alliance, 59 miles northeast of Scottsbluff and Gering, 41 miles southwest of Chadron, and 96 miles north of Sidney.
