  Hebron is located in Thayer County at the crossroads of Highway 136 and the Highway 81 Expressway, 45 miles south of I-80 (York) and 90 miles north of I-70 (Salina, KS). Thayer County, located in SE Nebraska, has a total area of 577 square miles. Hebron is the county seat and is located in the center of the county. Agriculture in the county is based on general livestock farming and cash grain farming. About three-fourths of the acreage is cultivated, a little less than one-fourth is in grass, and a small part is woodland. Deep-well irrigation is prominent throughout most areas of the county.

Hebron has three beautifully maintained parks with new playground equipment and camping hookups at Riverside Park. The Little Blue River runs adjacent to Riverside Park and through the community. Hebron is home to the World's Largest Porch Swing located in Roosevelt Park near the downtown businesses. Hebron also has completed one trail system and working on phase 2 to add more miles to the original trail. Other area lakes include Alexandria State Lakes (20 miles) and Lovewell, KS, Reservoir (40 miles). Within 30 miles there are 5 golf courses, 6 tennis courts, 3 disc golf courses, 6 swimming pools, 5 public campgrounds, and 16 public parks.
