| Natural Gas is supplied to Doniphan by SourceGas Distribution, LLC through a two inch transmission pipeline with an operating pressure of approximately 700 pounds per square inch on transmission lines and 30 maximum pounds per square inch on town lines. Natural gas is available for residential and commercial uses. Availability of natural gas for industrial uses is subject to individual situations.
SourceGas operates as an open access pipeline, enabling an industrial or large commercial gas user to obtain their own gas supplies and have them transported on SourceGas's system. Several gas marketers, including SourceGas's own marketing affiliate, are currently active on the system and could help obtain gas supplies. | The Doniphan Trumbull Public School District is accredited by the State of Nebraska and North Central Association. Doniphan is part of the Central Community College which encompasses a 25 county area. Campuses are located in Grand Island and Hastings. Hastings College is a private, undergraduate, four year residential liberal arts college. College Park in Grand Island is located adjacent to the Grand Island campus of Central Community College. It is a unique consortium of public and private colleges committed to providing complete sequences of courses leading to bachelors and masters degrees. |

| Annual celebrations include Wings Over the Platte, held in March when thousands of sandhills cranes migrate to the area and roost on the Platte River. The Doniphan Fall Festival in October includes a noon meal, parade, kiddie carnival, games and evening hamburger stand. The Doniphan Hometown Christmas is held in December and includes music, hayrack rides, businesses open late, cider,cookies and a Santa visit.
Doniphan has been home to the Nebraska Trapshooting Association since 1948. The Nationwide Championship Cornhusker Trapshoot moved to the NTA grounds in Doniphan in 1976 and hosts the annual Cornhusker Trapshoot which has grown to a three day event with more than 1,700 youth competing in 2007. The Nebraska State Shoot is held annually in Doniphan in June.
Doniphan recreation programs include baseball, softball, T-ball, soccer and flag football and emcompass participants from numerous surrounding communities. |

| There were 23 new homes constructed in the past two years and it is estimated that 10 more will be built in 2008. Hoffman Subdivision is a new subdivision being developed on the east side of Doniphan.
The Doniphan Apartments built in 1980 is an eight unit complex with one and two bedroom units with appliances and laundry facilities. Units are available for the handicapped and rental assistance is available to qualified applicants.
Prairie Winds Assisted Living Community was built in 1998 with 23 units. Accredited by the Dept of Health and Human Services and certified by Medicaid waiver, the facility offers five floor plans with most apartments equipped with kitchenettes. They are currently planning an expansion to add eight additional apartments. |
