  Creighton is located in Knox County in northeastern Nebraska at the intersection of State Highways 59 and 13. Cross-country U.S. Highway 20 is located eight miles south of Creighton. Creighton is 45 miles northwest of Norfolk, Nebraska; 90 miles west of Sioux City, Iowa; and 150 miles northwest of Omaha, Nebraska.

Arrangements can be made with Arrow Stage Lines at Norfolk for charter buses out of Creighton. The Lundberg Memorial Hospital in Creighton operates a van to transport people to larger communities such as Norfolk, Omaha, O'Neill, Neligh, and Yankton, South Dakota.

The Creighton Municipal Airport is 1/2 mile east of Creighton, and has a newly updated 3,700 foot(60 foot wide) paved runway with updated lighting to be completed in 2008. There is also a 2100 foot sod runway.  Services include 100 octane fuel and hangar space for eight planes. The elevation is 1,652 feet, the latitude is 42 degrees 28'25"N, the longitude is 97 degrees 53'02"W.

Barge services is available at 19 barge terminal facilities on the Missouri River in Nebraska. The Omaha river port is 182 miles southeast of Creighton. These river ports are navigable approximately eigth months per year.

Creighton Community Schools offer Pre-school, along with Pre-K through grade 12, with approximately 460 students. St. Ludger's parochial school, in operation since 1903, offers pre-kindergarten through 6th grade. Both provide caring, quality education. The Crighton school system is designated as a Double Blue Ribbon no-child-left-behind winner. The elementary school won the national award in 2003,one of 215 elementary schools in the nation. The High School was one of 17 schools nationwide that recieved this prestigious award in 2004. Nominations for this award were made by officials from the Nebraska Department of Education based upon student achievement results.

Creighton's one park covers 30 acres and has baseball and softball fields, swimming pool, tennis courts, sand volleyball, picnic areas, bicycle trails, and camping. Boating on the Niobrara is only 20 miles away, the Missouri River is 40 miles away, and Lewis and Clark Lake is 25 miles away. An anniversary celebration called Berry Pepper Days is held the third weekend in June. Activities have included parade, carnival, car show, road rally, alumni banquet, alumni basketball tournament, ice cream social, firemen's chicken dinner, kiddie parade, craft show, barbecue, open air dance, fireworks display, and American Legion baseball tournament. The event draws crowds exceeding 10,000 to the community. The park is transformed into Santaland in December of each year. A path of Christmas lights and candy canes lead to Santa's Workshop. Santa and Mrs. Santa are available to visit with the little ones, and the older ones too! Visitors from many states and several countries have enjoyed their tour of Santaland. The municipal pool is located in the park. The pool was completely renovated in 2002. The new heated pool and water slide have provided many hours of entertainment for the yound and "not so young"! Creighton's Bruce Park is the home of Bruce Park Arboretum, an affiliate Landmark Site of the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum with over 200 varieties of trees, shrubs & woody & flowering plants.

Creighton continues to remove old, unacceptable houses and has experienced a healthy rate of new single-family home construction. Some are in-fill, with 8 in a newer subdivision. Creighton also offers Public Housing that offers affordable, modern housing that targets the elderly or disabled, although others can apply. Rent is income-based, and lawn care, trash and snow removal, utilities and maintenance are included.

Creighton Area Health Services (CAHS) is the parent organization that operates a 23-bed acute-care, critical access Lundberg Memorial Hospital(LMH), a 47-bed intermediate Creighton Care Centre, plus the Creighton Physician and Verdigre Medical clinics. The hospital provides acute care, skilled care, home health, hospice, respite, and emergency services. Medical staff includes 4 physicians, 3 nurse practitioners, and one physician assistant. LMH is a municipal hospital, built in 1952. The Creighton Care Centre was built privately in 1966. The two were joined in 1992. A $6.1 million expansion/renovation of LMH and the Care Centre was completed in 2006.
