COMMUNITY NOTES |
| Our Community: | The village of Bradshaw was formed in 1880 with the coming of the railroad. The Homestead Act, promising 160 acres of free land for living on it for five years, was especially inviting to Union soldiers as the Civil War was coming to an end. Many of these soldiers were first settlers in the Bradshaw area. By 1890, Bradshaw was booming, but the town was nearly completely destroyed by a tornado that year. It took 10 years to rebuild the town. Today, Bradshaw is a thriving agricultural hub that includes a large elevator and substation steel fabrication plant with a number of locally owned businesses. | | Suggested Sites: |
