| The nearest airfield for private planes is at Pender, Neb., 17 miles northeast. Facilities include a 3,600 foot lighted concrete runway, hangars, tie-downs, beacon and 100 low lead fuel. Thirteen private planes are hangared there. The elevation at the airport is 1,355 feet.
The nearest point of scheduled air service is at the Karl Stefan Memorial Airport in Norfolk, 33 miles. Passenger, air freight, air express and flying lessons are available there. Airline serving Norfolk is United Express with 9 flights daily using a Beech 1900. Direct service is available to Grand Island, Nebraska, Yankton, South Dakota; minneapolis, Minnesota; and Denver, Colorado.
Airport facilities include two 5,300 foot paved and lighted runways, National Weather Service aOffice, instrument landing system, aviation gas and jet aviation fuel, major and minor repair, airtaxi, airplane rental, flight instructions, aerial photography and aerial spraying. Fifty-eight private planes are hangared there; eight are available for charter. The elevation at the airport is 1,572 feet.
Sioux City, 60 miles (1 hour) and Omaha, 86 miles (1 1/2 hours) are the major hubs for air traffic in the area. |
| Barge service is available at 19 barge terminal facilites on the Missouri River in Nebraska. The Omaha river port is 86 miles southeast of Beemer. These river ports are navigable approximately eight months per year. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers maintains a 9-foot deep, 300-wide channel for 735 navigable miles from Sioux City to the mouth of the Missouri River. Commodities transported by towing companies are alfalfa pellets, cement, concrete forms, distillers' dried grain, feed ingredients, fertilizer, grain, machinery, molasses, newsprint, nitrogen fertilizer solution, propylene glycol, rock aggregate, salt, steel and twine. |

| School District No. 55 serves Beemer. There is an elementary school; Preschool thru 4th grade. The high school has recently consolidated with West Point Public Schools to create West Point-Beemer Public School. Beemer sends 42 students to West Point to school, which is 8 miles southeast of Beemer. Beemer is part of the Northeast Nebraska Community College service area. The main campus is located in Norfolk and off-campus centers are located in O'Neill, South Sioux City, and West Point. It offers more than 60 technical, vocational and liberal arts programs preparing students for immediate employment or transfer to a four year college or university. The Continuing Education and Distance Learning Division provides credit programs, job-upgrading, and personal interest classes in 72 communities throughout the area. The college website is www.northeast.edu. Wayne State College is located in Wayne, Nebraska, 30 miles northwest of Beemer. Other colleges and universities in the area are: Midland Lutheran College in Fremont, Briar Cliff College in Sioux City, IA, Morningside College in Sioux City, IA, Creighton University in Omaha, University of Nebraska at Omaha and University of Nebraska at Lincoln. |

| The Village of Beemer has three parks. The park near the Beemer Ballroom has tennis courts, ball fields, a playground and a picnic area. The Kids Park is located near Colonial Haven nursing facility. This park has a playground and a picnic area. The Mini Park is located on Main Street and is home to the big white gazebo. Boating is available at near by sand pits, Fremont Lakes (40 miles), the Missouri River (45 miles), and Gavins Point Dam (82 miles). There are two bowling alleys within 8 miles of Beemer. Dancing at the Beemer Ballroom. Fishing at the nearby Elkhorn River and nearby lakes. Golfing at Beemer's Indian Trails Country Club--a public 18-hole beautiful course with a clubhouse for dining. Excellent hunting in the area as well. The nearest movie theater is the West Point Community Threatre. Annual Activities: The Beemer Community Theater presents a dinner theater production the last, full weekend of February; Beemer "Play Daze" is held annually the fourth, full weekend of July; and the Beemer Community Club sponsors the "Yuletide Social" in December. Other community activities include: boys baseball, girls softball, dance, karate, swimming, golf, piano, wrestling, 4-H, t-ball, flag football, soccer, boy scouts, girl scouts, community coffees, open houses, etc. |

| Beemer is served by Pender Community Hospital, located 18 miles northwest of Beemer. Pender's staff includes three physicians, two Physician Assistants, 15 Registered Nurses and six Licensed Practical Nurses. The hospital hosts 17 outpatient clinics staffed by 32 specialists. Services include neurology, ENT, general surgery, urology, oncology, pulmonology, OB/GYN, opthalmology, podiatry, orthopedics, gastroenterology, and cardiology. Diagnostic and rehabilitative services for cardiac rehab, occupational and physical therapy, bone density, MRI, CT, ultrasound, mammograms, and diagnostic radiography are also provided.
Beemer is also served by Franciscan Care Servises, based in West Point which is an integrated health system which includes St. Francis Memorial Hospital, the Dinklage Medical Clinic, and St. Joseph's Retirement Community. Available services through the health system include family medicine, emergency care, retirement living, obstetrics, prenatal care, business health and wellness, lab, mammography, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, therapy (physical, speech and occupational), CT, MRI, ultrasound, surgery, home health, hospice, and 20 visiting specialist clinics. The staff of St. Francis Hospital and Dinklage Medical Clinic includes four family pracitioners, two surgeons, three Physician Assistants, one Nurse Practioner, thirty Registered Nurses, and six Licensed Practical Nurses.
People from Beemer regularly go to hospitals in Norfolk, Fremont, Omaha, Sioux City, and Lincoln for more extensive care.

| Our Community: | Beemer is a small community located within easy driving distance of all necessary services. There are an abundance of recreational, educational, social, and business opportunities here. Usually several houses are for sale and there are lots available for building. The community of Beemer has a dinner theater production every February, a town celebration each July and a Christmas Social in December. Beemer has a good selection of retail, construction, service, and manufacturing businesses as well as several churches.
