| The Albion Municipal Airport, located three miles northeast of the community, has a lighted 3,100 foot asphalt runway, pilot's lounge, restroom, 14 hangars, 100 low lead aviation fuel, and a nondirectional beacon (BUN-332). Karl Stefan Memorial Airport at Norfolk, 51 miles northeast of Albion, provides air freight,and air express. Charter flights are available upon request. Supplementary all-cargo service (air/truck) is available with departures daily. Taxi service and car rental provide public ground transportation from the airport. |

| Loup Power District, a wholesale power customer of Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD), is a full-service, public power electric utility in eastern-central Nebraska. Headquartered in Columbus, Neb., Loup's service area covers approximately 2,028 square miles. The District maintains 780 miles of transmission and distribution lines and has been generating electric power since March 5, 1937. Total population within Loup's service area is approximately 50,000. Loup purchases, sells and delivers approximately 1.2 billion kilowatt hours of electric power annually to wholesale and retail customers across a service area that spans four counties entirely and parts of three others. Loup promotes the economic and industrial development of its service area. | Harmony Homes, built in 1966 by the Albion Housing Authority, is a low-cost housing facility with 40 ground-level units. Facilities include a community room with kitchen, laundry facilities, and social activities. Parkview Apartments, built in 1977, has 24 three-room units. Facilities include a community room and plaza, laundry room, indoor mail delivery, elevator, handi-bus pick-up, meals on wheels, and prescription and grocery delivery.

| The Boone County Heatlh Center is a fully accredited and licensed hospital with 25 beds and 8 bassinets. Five family practitioners, one pediatrician, and three physician assistants staff the Health Center's new Albion Clinic and four satellite clinics located in Elgin, Fullerton, Newman Grove, and Spalding. The Wolf Memorial Good Samaritan Center is a skilled nursing facility, which has a capacity for 60 residents in 40 private and 10 semiprivate rooms. The center offers 24-hour nursing care, skilled nursing services, Lifeline, a chapel, restorative care, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, bus transportation, short-term care, an outdoor courtyard, beauty salon, a satellite distance-learning classroom, and an activity program. Samaritan Estates was established in 2003 as an assisted living center. |

| Our Community: | Albion, a small town in central Nebraska, was founded in 1872. Albion has a population of about 1,797 and its elevation is 1,749 feet above sea level. Albion is the county seat of Boone County. The first settler of Boone County filed on a homestead claim near Albion in April, 1871. In 1880 and 1881, Albion grew rapidly due to a rush of immigration to American and the construction of the railroad which goes through Albion.
