Ainsworth Municipal Airport (ANW) is a 2500 acre facility that has served the Sandhills for 55 years. It has recently undergone $3 million worth of improvements and rehab. The airport is an all weather facility that offers automated weather reporting, remote communication outlets, good instrument approaches and lighting, a spacious concrete ramp and two paved runways that will accommodate 45,000 pound business jets. Services include Air BP Jet Fuel and Avgas, Large Hanger, Auxilary Power Unit, Crew Cars, Rental Cars and Limousine service.

Ainsworth Community Schools, located in the north central Sandhills of Nebraska, is a Class III district in Brown County with enrollment of 565 K-12 students. The district if fully accredited by the State of Nebraska and North-Central Accreditation, utilizes newly remodeled school facilities, climate controlled classrooms and technology to focus on student achievement. The district implemented the Educational Achievement Center in 2001 to provide better opportunity for at-risk students.

Our Community:Ainsworth, where the Niobrara River meets the Sandhills, is known as the "Middle of Nowhere," but upon visiting you'll find it's the "Center of Everywhere." Located in the heart of "The Nebraska Outback" ranch and cowboy country, Ainsworth hosts a National Country Music Festival each year the second weekend in August as well as the Sand Hills Discovery Experience each July. The area also offers an abundance of Nebraska clean air along with fishing, hunting, bike and nature trails, bird watching, canoeing and golfing. The Ainsworth airport was formerly an air base and facilitates many sizes of air craft including small jets. It is frequently used for medical personnel and supplies as well as recreational activites. The Ainsworth area welcomes you with old fashioned Sandhills hospitality.
